Evils Teams

Evils teams are the intended home for Wrath (Assault). If you only add Wrath to a random mono-element DPS pile, you will feel underwhelmed. If you build Evils tags, elemental diversity, DoT / Despair setups, and a real economy, Wrath becomes the season-defining support on Support Units. This page is the construction manual. Kit reference: Wrath (Assault). Unlock: How to Get Wrath (Assault).

Design pillars

  1. Tag coverage — enough Evils units to activate free place, upgrade mirroring, and Evils-only amp clauses.
  2. Element diversity — each different element on the bar feeds additional Evils damage (about +50% per element via Wrath’s kit).
  3. DoT and debuffs — Despair, Destruction, shield break, and bonus damage into DoT targets want burn/bleed partners.
  4. Crit chain planning — elemental crit splash and Wrath crit setups reward Deadeye-leaning partners.
  5. Mind Control budget — leave damage available for betrayal waves.
  6. Economy — Fortune farm still pays the yen that upgrades everyone Wrath mirrors.

The elemental diversity rule

Count unique elements among the units you bring, not the number of Evils stickers on the card art. Examples:

  • Five Fire Evils → weak diversity, wasted amp.
  • Evils Fire + Evils Dark + Evils Holy + Curse Wrath + a flex element → strong diversity.
  • Banning an element in Team Battle → rebuild the bar; do not force a dead slot.

When two units share an element, ask whether the kit overlap is worth losing a diversity stack. Sometimes yes (you need the second Fire carry). Often no (you are collecting skins).

Despair amp and “Evils only” board notes

Wrath applies Despair and Destruction, strips shields, and hits harder into DoT. Some amp patterns play best when the board identity stays Evils-focused rather than watering down with unrelated tags that do not benefit from the buff envelope. Practical takeaway: fillers should either

  • be Evils,
  • provide essential economy, or
  • provide a new element / utility that clearly raises clear rate.

A random off-tag DPS that steals yen and adds no element can reduce the team’s coherence even if its solo DPS Units ranking looks high.

Flagship partner: Iscanur (Pride)

Iscanur (Pride) is an Evils Fire Vanguard with hour-stack damage, burn application, and high ceiling burst. Beside Wrath:

  • Burn feeds Wrath’s love of DoT targets.
  • Evils tag enables free place and mirrored upgrades.
  • Power of Friends can turn an Iscanur active into a boss delete button.
  • Fire becomes one diversity slot — surround it with other elements.

Iscanur also has quirky slot-burn optional patterns in its own kit. Read the in-game tooltips before you copy a viral loadout that burns half your bar for no reason on a story stage.

Sample team skeletons

Starter Evils skeleton

  • Fortune farm (any solid farm)
  • Wrath (Assault)
  • Iscanur (Pride) or best Evils DPS you own
  • Second Evils unit of a different element
  • Third Evils or high-value utility that adds another element
  • Flex: Door / Holy Deceiver / Divalo if they improve clear rate without collapsing the plan

Soft-launch skeleton (Wrath not yet unlocked)

  • Farm
  • Best Evils DPS
  • Second Evils different element
  • Generic support
  • Flex DPS
  • Save a mental slot for Wrath so you do not Monarch pity six unrelated units the week before Tier 50

Hard Wrath Event skeleton

  • Prefer Sloth or Gluttony while learning
  • Avoid Pride unless you intentionally want a one-unit show
  • Bring burst for Mind Control waves
  • Do not spend the entire early yen on cosmetics upgrades that leave you helpless on wave 6 betrayal

Sin details: Wrath Event.

Trait plan for Evils teams

SlotTarget trait
FarmFortune
Main Evils carryEthereal or Deadeye (kit dependent)
WrathDeadeye / Ethereal / Solar as needed
Secondary EvilsBlitz holding → Ethereal
Utility supportswhatever keeps them reliable; do not Monarch blindly

Active usage rules

  • Save Power of Friends for the highest-HP enemy phase.
  • Do not overlap two big actives into a dying trash mob.
  • After Mind Control resolves and Wrath gains permanent crit chance, lean harder into crit partners.
  • In co-op, call the active so teammates do not steal the target timing.

Familiars and memoria

  • Level A Beast Plays on Wrath.
  • Buy Wrath Event familiars only for partners you actually run (Falcon, Saber, Smith, NotGoodGuy, Medea lines).
  • Memoria shards from pass, codes, and event shop should hit the units in this team first — not the trophy unit in storage.

Gem and XP logistics

Evils teams need partners. Partners need gems. Gems need a schedule: Gem Farming. Wrath itself needs Pass XP: Warfront, Pirate Dynasty, and 3x Wrath Event XP. Use Tools if you want checklist form.

Mistakes that make Evils teams feel bad

  • Wrath with no Evils allies
  • Five of the same element
  • Ignoring Mind Control damage budget
  • Judging Wrath on wave 3 before free place conditions exist
  • Skipping A Beast Plays
  • Selling the farm because “supports don’t need gold”
  • Copying a whale board that assumes Door + Deceiver + Iscanur + shiny Wrath on day two

Progression roadmap

  1. Finish Getting Started fundamentals.
  2. Start pass XP immediately.
  3. Collect any Evils units you already own; stop selling them.
  4. Unlock and gear Wrath.
  5. Rebuild the bar for diversity.
  6. Compare results to Tier List expectations.
  7. Iterate traits and memoria.

Evils teams are a puzzle: tags, elements, DoT, crits, and a scheduled betrayal. Solve the puzzle, and Wrath (Assault) stops looking like “just another Exclusive” and starts looking like the reason the season is called Wrathful Assault.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Wrathful Assault and Anime Vanguards.

How do I build a team around Wrath (Assault)?

Field other Evils units, maximize different elements on the bar, keep a Fortune farm, and budget damage for Mind Control waves. Iscanur (Pride) is a flagship partner.

What does +50% per element mean?

Wrath's kit grants Evils units additional damage for each different element present on your unit bar. Diversify elements to unlock the full amp.

Should my whole team be Evils?

Prioritize Evils for buff uptime, but keep a farm and any utility that clearly raises clear rate. Avoid off-tag fillers that add neither elements nor survival.

When should I use The Power of Friends?

On high-HP targets during boss spikes, multiplying an Evils unit's next damaging active by 4.
